Archibald James Winery was established in 2018 and is alignment of passions and interests to make handcrafted wines and hard ciders. Bryan Noyd and Seth Cohen met serendipitously and found they had a similar interest in building a small wine and cider brand but came from very different complimentary backgrounds.

Archibald James hard ciders highlight the fruit and natural transformation of flavors and character through fermentation and aging; ciders are produced in a traditional manner from cider, heirloom apples, and occasionally whole fruits or botanicals; more akin to white wine than many modern ciders.

Wines from Archibald James are made from grapes grown by some of our friends across Washington state and from grapes in a small vineyard we manage in Wenatchee owned by some other great friends. Our wines are expressive of the fruit and the vineyards they come from as well as the vintage. We employ minimal intervention techniques to our wines and cider in general with the use of native yeast and bacteria in many of our fermantations, limited sulfites (in some cases none added), and sparing use of new oak barrels in our aging program.
